by In a recent interview, America’s Got Talent host Terry Crews shared his thoughts on who he believes would be a perfect addition to the judges’ panel—none other than comedy legend Chris Rock.
Crews, who has been the face of AGT’s hosting duties since 2019, told People magazine that if the hit NBC talent show ever decides to introduce a fifth judge, Rock would be his top pick.
“I think Chris Rock would be a great judge,” Crews said in the May 26 interview. “He knows funny, but he knows entertainment.”
Crews and Rock go way back, having previously worked together on the beloved sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, which was based on Rock’s childhood. Their professional history and shared comedic sensibilities make Rock a natural candidate for the AGT stage, according to Crews.
While he’s enthusiastic about suggesting new talent for the judging table, Crews made it clear he has no intention of becoming a judge himself.
“That’s not my thing,” he admitted. “I mean, I am 100% the bodyguard of talent because when I look at all the people that come through here, they just remind me of me.”
Reflecting on his humble beginnings, Crews spoke about how deeply he connects with contestants chasing their dreams on the AGT stage.
“I remember just sitting in Michigan praying one day if I get my shot to come out to L.A. and make it happen, and they remind me of everything that I’ve been through,” he added. “So I protect it and I watch them.”
Crews continues to shine in his role as a supportive and high-energy host, standing beside hopefuls as they face the intense AGT spotlight. His empathy, enthusiasm, and experience bring a unique emotional layer to the show, making him a fan-favorite fixture.
